ChemSoc, Seminar Committee, Department of Chemistry is proud to announce the third instalment of Colloquium: International Lecture Series. Colloquium provides a platform for students and teachers to interact with and learn from leading researchers known for their excellent work in diverse fields within chemical sciences. This National Science Day, we explore the significance and potential of electrochemistry in today’s world.

Speaker: Dr. Mark D Symes, FRSC
Dr. Mark Symes is a Royal Society University Research Fellow at the School of Chemistry, University of Glasgow, UK. He obtained a PhD in supramolecular chemistry from University of Edinburgh in 2009 and undertook postdoctoral work at MIT. He is heavily involved in RSC public outreach and is the Chair of the RSC Electrochemistry Interest Group Committee. He is on the editorial board of Scientific Reports as an electrochemistry expert since 2014. His work focuses on electrochemistry for energy conversion. He has an h-index of 33 with over 5,000 citations in the past five years.
