Prayas, the enabling unit, is the PwD cell of the college. It facilitates academic pursuits of the differently-abled students through reading and writing services. It also sensitizes the college fraternity about the needs of the differently-abled community and ensures their participation in extra-curricular activities, including sports and para-athletics. Prayas also organizes its Annual festival apart from other activities.
The ‘Orientation Program’ of the Society was organized 20th September. 2019 to make the volunteers aware of their responsibilities, which was celebrated in collaboration with Help the blind foundation and Samarthanam. A training programme pertaining to Computer skills and soft skills was announced on the aforementioned date and the programme was going on in a very helpful manner till the semester break.
The ‘Freshers’ Talent show’ was organized on 16th October, 2019 to provide a platform to the differently-abled students and the new volunteers to showcase their talent for which some of them were felicitated by cash prizes.
The society had also organized a workshop in collaboration with the Fine Arts and Photography Society.
The visually impaired students also got scholarships from various platforms, and 29 students got scholarship from the Help the blind foundation and 1 student got scholarship from National scholarship portal.
