The department strives to uphold academic excellence, alongside cultivating within students the consciousness to build a better society. The department has an active Economics society, of which all students admitted to the honours course are members. Its annual academic festival, ‘Pareto Time’ is one of the oldest academic events in the university in the field of Economics. It provides space to students for learning through seminars, debates and interaction with other fellow students from other colleges of the university. The functioning is done by a democratically elected team of student representatives.
