Incepted as Nirmla College in 1951 symbolising the feminine energy of a motherhood and established as Kirori Mal College in 1954 symbolising the crystallization of 'Nirmal Bhawana', that is, Benevolence, Benediction & Beatitude, this Body of Academic has excelled in nurturing the early buds of the society into full blossomed flowers, spreading fragrance of their knowledge, merit and happiness all round in every nook and corner of the world.

As the Principal of the College, I feel myself blessed to stand in the queue of those who have incessantly engaged themselves wholeheartedly and shaped this institution in the best possible way and made it what it stands today.

A brief profile of Prof. Dinesh Khattar, Principal

  1. An alumnus of Hindu College and gold medalist in both B.Sc. and M.Sc. examinations of the University of Delhi.
  2. Received the Prof. Ram Bihari Gold Medal for being the overall topper in all courses of Delhi University and getting 100% marks in a record 6 papers in the M.Sc. examination.
  3. Selected for the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship of the Government of India for pursuing research in the UK.
  4. A recipient of the Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Memorial National Teachers Award for his contribution in the field of Higher Education.
  5. A recipient of the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam National Dedication Award for his contribution in the field of Higher Education.
  6. Honoured with 1st Position as a Community Engagement Champion at the 1st National Achievers Award 2025 by the National EduTrust of India.
  7. Secured 2nd Position for Best Principal in Promoting Research Culture at the 1st National Achievers Award 2025 by the National EduTrust of India.
  8. Supervised 6 students in their Ph.D. and presented research papers in many countries across the globe.
  9. Published more than 20 books with prestigious national and international publications, with 2 books on Abstract Algebra being published by Springer Nature as an International Edition.
  10. Has been a two-time Member of the Academic Council of Delhi University, which is the highest academic body of the University.
  11. A member of many prestigious committees of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for educational reforms.
  12. Leading the Research Group on Ancient Indian Mathematics under the guidance of Adarniye Dr. Krishan Gopal ji at the Bhartiya Vidya Adhyayan Sansthan, South Avenue.
