KMCH is not only a residence but an emotion! It is not only an institution but a place which shapes our habits, attitudes and LIFE. Technically, it was established in 1954 along with the establishment of the college. Thereafter, it became a cherished place for the people associated with it in various ways. The hostel life taught us to be independent yet dependent on friends, respect seniors, treat them as friends, obey the authorities, and have one’s voice for the cause of justice. Hostel taught us special social skills to meet life challenges that are not available in classroom lessons. It instilled in us a sense of confidence and brotherhood, which we still cherish and will do so till the last breath of our life. Also, the hostel was a witness to the lives of so many distinguished alumni, including one and only Shri Amitabh Bachchan, who at one time resided at the campus. There are so many distinguished alumni in every sphere- administration, media, politics, academics, research etc. that it would be impossible to enumerate their names. Shakespeare once said, what is there in the name. We would say a name to which KMCH alumni is attached; it really matters to all of us.
