ABOUT US

Centre for Innovation and Social Enterprise was setup in March 2020 as an outcome of the UGC- UKIERI project. The Centre Orient towards fostering an abiding entrepreneurial spirit amongst the youth by assist ing in the development of an entrepreneurial idea till the execution of the idea in the real world. The centre addresses pressing social issues and focuses on solving them through a creative framework. It focuses on social responsibility, sustainable development and the element of environment protection through creative ideas, critical social research and a process of innovation.

Our mission is to contribute our part in the best possible way on this amazing blend of innovation and social entrepreneurship. We aspire to create an environment which will provide our young minds a platform to actually bring their ideas into reality.

Our Vision is to make sure the future-ignited minds keep Profit, Planet and People in mind while working on their innovative ideas. Here at CISE, we try to make our members think out of the box. Identifying a problem and finding a sustainable solution directly catering to social problems is what we aspire to work on

Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship:The centre provides a dedicated space for students and faculty to explore innovative ideas, develop entrepreneurial skills, and turn concepts into viable projects and startups. This fosters a culture of creativity and problem- solving on campus.

Engaging Learning Opportunities:Through practical projects, workshops, and mentorship programs, students get hands-on experience and real-world exposure. This kind of experiential learning enhance their academic performance and employability prospects.

Social Impact:The focus on social enterprise ensures that students and entrepreneurs work towards creating businesses that prioritize positive social or environmental impact. It encourages students to address pressing societal issues, contributing to the betterment of the community.

Networking and Partnerships:The centre serves as a hub for connecting students, faculty, and external partners, including businesses, NGOs, government agencies, and investors. These partnerships open up opportunities for collaboration, funding, and support for innovative projects.

Centre For Innovation and Social Enterprise conducts annual workshops every year in collaboration with the design Innovation Centre and Delhi School of Public Policy and Governance. The workshop focuses on igniting Entrepreneurial skills through innovations which will turn students into lifelong learners. The idea is to promote new innovators with the crucial element of the promise of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development to leave no one behind. With participants from different universities and different courses, the ideas and discussions around social innovation and social enterprise helps students to develop out-of-the-box thinking.

    Ashraya Foundation, in collaboration with The Jha Group and the Centre for Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship of Delhi University (CISE), announces the launch of “Shanti Jha CISE Jr Fellowship in Innovation and Entrepreneurship for 100 students of Delhi University.

    The selection for the Jr Fellowship to be conducted by a team of entrepreneurs, where 50 male and 50 female students measure up to the criteria, benchmarked to global standards, and adopted by the jury for the purpose. This program will be limited to 12 months from the grant and the honorarium will not exceed Rs 1 Lakh per Fellow and will be available to be used towards an enterprising project.

    Outside of government programs, this is one of the single largest initiatives by a non- governmental organisation or an individual since independence.

The intensive Bootcamp on Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Finance equips participants with the practical tools to turn their ideas into sustainable ventures. Our Workshop on Rebooting Entrepreneurship empowers individuals to adapt and thrive in ever-evolving markets.
