Montage - The Film Society is a haven for cinema enthusiasts, offering a vibrant community to explore various cinematic works and hone their skills. Renowned within Delhi University, Montage stands out as one of the few film societies that equally emphasizes film analysis and filmmaking, providing a balanced platform for both.

Montage aims to create an inclusive space for all cinema lovers—whether cinephiles, aspiring filmmakers, cinematographers, actors, editors, writers, or novices eager to delve into the world of film. Our mission is to cultivate a supportive community where members can freely express their thoughts, whether through discussions or the camera lens. We are dedicated to helping individuals build confidence in their identity and craft, believing that true art and beauty stem from authenticity. Our culture thrives on constructive criticism and feedback, fostering growth and improvement.
Montage is divided into two equally important wings: Film Analysis and Filmmaking.
  • - Film Analysis Departments: Logistics & Marketing, Content & Research, Social Media & Design
  • - Filmmaking Departments: Pre-Production, Production, Post-Production

  • Membership in departments is non-exclusive, allowing individuals to explore various interests.

  • - Thematic Screenings: Films screened within a specific theme to educate members on their relevance and stylistic associations. Discussions on filmmaking techniques, story, and social context follow.
  • - Montage Film Quiz: An annual cinema quiz.
  • - Mise-en-scène: The Annual Fest: A significant two-day event offering diverse experiences and insights into the world of films. Activities include an on-spot filmmaking competition, screenwriting competition, themed exhibition, guest lectures, and screenings followed by interaction with the filmmaker.
  • - 2024-25 Productions Work
  • - Script discussions and development
  • - Thematic screening and discussions
  • - Initiating a Sound Production and Design wing within Post-Production
  • - Participation in filmmaking competitions
  • - Planning of the annual quiz
  • - Collaborations with relevant brands
  • Regular workshops, intra-soc filmmaking projects and discussion sessions are held to develop members' skills. Some guest speaker workshops are open to all students.
We strive to cultivate our members' skills with a spirit of inclusivity and a strong sense of community, recognizing that art is a deeply personal endeavor.
